Chris Evans stepping down from Top Gear

This is not a bad idea, I've watched 3 shows so far and I have to say although he's clearly trying hard the shoutiness is tiring and I have to turn the volume down when he talks.
 
I think the show needs to take a new direction - it's boring - we need to see a lot more cars, including engine bay and interior accounts of each - a more interesting overview of ordinary cars and super cars, if you like. The special location scenes, eg the two 3-wheeled car scene etc are not great viewing. The guest slots and the stig have had their day. Something fresh is needed in this programme, which should have been thought through before creating and airing the new series.
 
So there is a god then=)) lets hope that radio 2 dumps him now:whistle:

Good, funny thing is I think he is great on the radio listen to him all the time, but I cant stand watching him on the box ... and no I'm not a Gingerphile .... never liked any of his shows.

I'm exactly the same Nod. Listen to him everyday in the truck. Put him on the TV I just want to turn over.
 
He has the perfect face for radio ...................................... and that's where he should stay

Quite a gesture from someone who is self admittedly egotistical. I think the series got better as it went on. They seemed to learn to tune out Evans and tune in more of the other presenters, especially Le Blanc who I thought was getting good. Let's hope they lose Eddy Jordan next. Mate, you're not funny and never have been.
 
Didn't really like any of them to be honest. I loved May and Clarkson tho so knew I'd struggle with anyone taking over.

The trouble is Dave, they kept the same studio, the fastest lap, the Stig,basically the same format so we're going to compare it with the old programme. What they should have done is make a completely new show, about cars and not about egos.

I'm with you @t-tony not keen on Evans but he can be unique and a real shame they didn't try something new. Seems to me that they set themselves up for a fall. I watched a few but really didn't enjoy any.

I watched to first two Si, but honestly forgot it was on the following Sunday and haven't watched it since. Having said that I was getting tired of the old show too.

Glad Evans is going, what we need now is an original format for the show. get rid of the stig, he's had his day. Time for something a little different, perhaps more Zed related features!!!
