Had to go to B&Q today and when I came out I thought I'd pop down to Charlestown to see if there was anything interesting in the harbour.
There is a company there that builds ships for films and TV companies so there is usually something to see.

Today though there was only one wooden masted vessel in.

The harbour has been used as a film / TV set for lots of productions including the latest Poldark series.

The pics below are of an old film prop from one of the "Trojan" films

Hope you like the photos, taken on my old phone.

Yep, top pics mate. Very nice having some good history on your doorstep to look at.

Thanks for sharing Gary. It's always nice to see what I would have missed

Getting pics in what is quite a confined space for such big things is difficult. You did well!

We went there when we stayed in a cottage just a few miles down the road a few years ago but I don't recall there being any boats like that in at the time. Am I right in thinking theres a museum there that has a lifeboat outside?

I'm guessing that's the lifeboat you refer to in the background of the last piccy

Yes Ian, the "lifeboat and ship wreck" museum is behind the "Trojan" ship.

Very impressive to see such boats in real dimensions! Great pics!

Thanks for these wonderful pics! Always nice to see something other than cars! A true pic of life in another part of the world. JIM
