Centre console 1998 Z3 - improvements?

Recently paid £77.67 plus VAT for a BMW item from Vines of Guildford; so yes, they are available from new and cheaper than some of the 2nd hand items on ebay this is for part 51168413622 - Cup holder/coinbox

@Southernboy used to make an armrest with a cup holder that swivelled out - I liked that as a different option.

Can anyone confirm what this armrest is please ?

My 2002 3.0 just has an open tray here and an ashtray (since removed and a I’ve added a cheap 3D printed cup holder.

However this armrest / storage looks spot on.
It’s from an ad for a 2001 3.0 manual currently for sale in Stoke.

That's actually not an armrest but a casette box, part number 65141387031 (needs two special brackets for mounting, 65148399364 and 65148353045). You can remove the casette drawer and will have some space for a smartphone or some keys. I had one in my 2.0 roadster and it was somewhat wobbly but nonetheless useful.

Here in germany they are usually for sale for around 50-80€:

I'm not sure a Z3 ever came from the factory with cup holders. You could buy a part (cup holder) from BMW which screwed to the top of the console, I bought one for my Z3 (12 years ago) but I don't know if they're still available.

I can conf still available (and cheaper than many seconds on eBay - got 1 at Christmas direct from Vines in Guildford (ask for Christian in parts).
