Thanks Tony, its not the DVD that's gone its the 6 stack CD unit that sits below the DVD in some models that's stopped working, but this shows how to disassemble the plastics which I'm grateful for.

I realised the car in the video didn't have the disc changer but as you say it sits below the Nav disc drive. Hope you can get it out without taking the whole thing to bits mate.

Tony.

Hi Brian how you doing mate? Yes the CD unit under the hatch.
We are not too bad thanks hope you are too.

OK. This brings back memories to me when I was trying to find out why It wouldn't open!

I found out later the unit had been disconnected before I bought the car, a previous owner wanted to use his memory stick to play his own recordings and he wanted to play them via that lead you will find tucked away in the glove box. He apparently wanted his song list to show up on the screen so he paid to have the fitted disc stacker unit disconnected.
I don't know if the disc stacker is working but after I bought the car I wanted to find out why I couldn't open it too, so do you still have all the paperwork I gave you?
If so, in there you will find the receipt from the company that carried out the alteration to the stacker, if my memory serves me right I think he paid the lowest of the options he had which was the basic Disconnection of the stacker and route the cable through to the glove box, but that now has made the stacker unusable!!
It may well be a simple switch back of the wiring Niall, I did think at the time of taking the car back to the business that carried out the alteration and ask them to reverse it back to the stacker, but I only ever listen to the radio so never got round to it.
If you still have that receipt it has the contact details on it I recall ringing them.
I had completely forgotten about the stacker issue, It could be reconnected probably? Let me know how it goes.
Hope that's of help.

Bri.

Hi Brian, that makes perfect sense as there didn't appear to be any power to it, thanks for the info, as I said I don't really want to use it just hate things being broken, but now I know its disconnected it can stay that way, only other issue is the cable fitted into the glove box is the very old ipod type so not much use either  I think I need to have a look when it warms up a bit and install something a bit more up to date. Anyway thanks for the heads up, its appreciated.
Niall
