CD Unit Stuck (E85)

As the title say my CD unit (multichanger) is stuck. Anyone got any bright ideas of how to get the cartridge out?

Not seen one of those for years

Does it change CDs OK?
Is it the cartridge that is stuck or something else that's preventing it from doing that?

Nothing in it I don't own any CDs, just wanted to get it working. Cartridge is stuck, or it's just knackered.

is there a pin hole on the front somewhere that you can stick a paperclip in to release it?
I can remember seeing those, but that may be the Z3 ones?

When I bought my Z4 the cartridge was AWOL NIall, so I can't help much, but having watched that video have you tried the "shock" treatment mate?

Yes mate, theres no sound from the mechanism so I think now its b******* rather than stuck

My old E60 cd changer used to stick and i took the unit out.
2 small screws each side release the clamps and the took the lid off and was able to push the cd's back into the cartridge. When powered up again the cassette came out. Worth a look at.

It is the same cassette as the z3 so could be a similar changer just different wiring

Totally different unit mate.

Z4 unit is part of the console behind the seats. A real pig to remove.

have you tried disconnecting the battery and leaving it for 5-10 minutes and trying again? might reset and opens up, worth a try
