Actually, Ringo Starr was a very good drummer..... for The Beatles! The same as Keith Moon was a great drummer for The Who. Two totally different styles of music, but each to his own. Kenny Jones, a good stock drummer who joined The Who after Moon's demise couldn't recreate Moon's drumming, or the old Who sound.

I used to use a Roland 606 Drum machine.........very clever bit of kit but never bought a round of drinks

Q. How do you know if the drum riser is level?
A. The drummer dribbles from both corners of his mouth.
