Sorry mate, not made it clear. Wasn't familiar with the mag so googled the main site so I know what to buy.:)

It's not available in shops over here... I wouldn't say scanning and emailing is legal, but so are a lot of other things (not saying in any way that law can/should be broken) :-)

On Android you can download the app and purchase the single January issue for $5.99. That's what I did. This article was a good start for me as I am attempting to learn how to care for my own 2.8 manual despite the fact I have little experience and zero tools. I like reading the material and do enjoy tinkering. I plan to get the right tools soon. (Is this an insane plan?) I love this car and would like to be able to keep it in as excellent running condition as possible. It seems with care this car has alot left in it. It has NEVER seen snow or much rain. This year I bought it with 74,000 miles and spent another $2,000 for new tires, shocks, brakes, struts, oil change, belts, filters etc. I do not drive much as I live in the center of Hollywood and ride my bicycle or take public transit. It sits garaged most days and I take it out for weekend trips to Malibu or a date. My plan was to have this car a long time. It's perfect for L.A. My mechanic tells me it is in great condition now. (he owns the M and knows what he is doing) But long term I want to be able to do the basic maintanence myself. Your advice for a beginner would be appreciated.

@Dan Austin my advice is to keep on reading to begin with! Get a manual and read and reread it and after a few times through you will get an idea of what you will be able to do yourself with simple hand tools. You'll be surprised that you don't require a lot of fancy equipment to do general maintainance on your car. A good set of wrenches, socket/ratchets and screwdrivers are a good starting point. Watch for good sales and build from there. Hope you're having a Merry Christmas!! JIM
