ok, the son in laws 2.8, 7 series has catastrophically failed its mot, question is for me, can i be bothered to drop the engine in the zed.

Cause you can. Need to upgrade the obvious bits tho. Brakes, suspension etc.

If you are willing to source all the other bits that you need then go for it, it will not be a straight out and in though.

this is why im thinking can i really spare the zed for the time it would take, not realistically no, could always use one of the pool cars for a while though, but then the list of other parts is quite long too.

Why don't you collect all the parts required first then take the zed off the road.

but then i would need to store the 7, not a biggie i could leave it at work in the long marston ex military base, it is a similar build year but only the engine would be usable. but it would buy me time.

you got me thinking now ummm can i have 2 zeds, the lad has just moved out so his car is gone i would have room but how do i justify it to sally ummmm

Problem is Jason one bum two Zeds ;) which would you drive, bet the 2.8 would always get favored. I've been there when I bought the ///M though to be fair @BMBabe manages it!

yes i know, could always persuade sally she needs one:whistle::) problem there is though - grandchildren, unless she keeps her car for family stuff, cant see it happening though (was thinking of using the now vacant parking spot on the drive to build a kit car).
supose i could use the 1.9 as a winter/snow car=))

well the 7 series has now been moved down to the hotels private car park, think it will be sold (it failed on mostly bushes/balljoints, hard to find and quite expensive for a 7, would cost about £500 to get it through, he only paid £70 for the car 14 months ago so no loss, a buyer has already shown interest so the engine swap wont happen now.

Of course you can drive 2 cars. I've got my Zed and my old Merc Coupe and I drive them both. And seeing as I'm only home from 5pm Friday afternoon to 5am on Monday morning I think I do it quite well =))

During the week I drive my company van.

Jill refuses to drive my cars as she has her VW Polo so my cars don't move unless I'm driving them

You are right I use both and @Mnbrennan likes to jump in Panther on a sunny day
While work gets carried out on one Zed you drive the other zed so you don't miss out on any events or good weather for a drive

Still think you're being a bit greedy though Stacey =))=))

Skint but happy ;) Panther is more Martins now to be honest Taking Panther to Sunday's event
