I'm installing a clutch master cylinder in my 96 1.9 Z3. I've got the new one in but I have this part left over. The working conditions are so cramped that sometimes I have to work blind as there are times that you can look at what you have to do but the position needed to do the work prevents you from using your hands AND look at the work. The parts that you are working with include the clutch pedal, brake pedal, bracket that holds the 2 electrical switched or buttons that contact the clutch pedal and brake pedal and the clutch master cylinder. This piece popped off something and I can't find out where. I know sometimes you guys have exploded diagrams of systems that I don't have. There is also a stamped on the ring: G 14707. Any help is appreciated. I'm going out to reconnect the hydraulic hose back to the brake reservoir. and bleed the system in the meantime. The piece also has two sets of fingers that looks like you would squeese them together and insert them into a hole and release them so the very ends would grip to hold the piece in place. See Pics.

It looks like some kind of gland that is used where you route a pipe or similar through a panel or into something else. Doesn't look robust enough to take any strain though. Not much help really.
The other bit is a pencil

Had a look at real oem exploded drawing mate, nothing resembling part at all mate, sorry.

Had a good look too - Sounds stupid - but could it be from packaging?

Oy we never describe plastic as fragile!!!! It is fit for purpose.
Apart from the plastic that CD case hinges are made from, not fragile - brittle:(

OK - Back on message....

Looks like it clips into the bulkhead or something else to stop chafing. I've had a bit of time on my hands tonight and not been able to find anything like that on realoem.
Every time I see your posts with your name, I can't help but think of your reply about the vid I posted about the dogs and I start to laugh. And the more I think about it, the more I keep laughing to myself. That was such a cute, funny video for so many reasons. I have to find it and look at it again. Frankie

I found it @Althulas. Here it is again. I was crying when I saw the guy getting wacked on the head by his kid. I had forgotten about that...........
