I bought my daughter a metro from the auction for £60. One lady owner and maintained regardless of cost. She went shopping with her mum to Cheshire Oaks in it and after a day round the shops they unlocked it, started it and were about to drive off when she saw a coat on the back seat that was not hers. Her own car was two rows in front, so yes they were very easily nicked!
New cars of similar engine size are way quicker than they used to be. Tis relative to the period I suppose. Today's diesels are lighteningly quick compared to those of similar engine size from twenty-thirty years ago.I had an mg metro 1.3 thought it was quick at the time, it was pretty sh!t with hindsight![]()

The metro was one of those cars that normal joe public drove back then. I wonder what everyone thinks is todays equivalent.
