I would check the mating surfaces on that particular wheel Pete, there's always a reason wheel nuts/bolts come loose. What do you torque them up to by the way? Do you lubricate the threads by any chance?

Tony.
I have a torque tester at work, my first line of investigation will be making sure the scale on my extremely old torque wrench isn't lying to me.

Had any of the other wheel's fixings come loose mate? Just aa a "by the way" Autodata quote 110-130 NM for Z3 and Z4 wheel bolts. Since I fitted spacers on my car I use 120 NM. We have to have our personal torque wrenches tested every 6 months through work, if we use them at work.

Link above looking for someone to log in.

Edit: here we go, great vid, surprised to see you use 2nd gear at the bottom of the mountain.

I've experimented with 2nd and 3rd. In 3rd the engine just makes a dull dead sort of noise going up the mountain and doesn't seem to do much. I think my vanos seals need sorted as there just isn't any low down grunt. It is on the list of things to do.

I've got a few theories why it came loose. Like I say, I'm almost positive it is my torque wrench. I'll find out tomorrow for sure.
