I decided to change out the hydro chromed side vents for stainless ones, but first I swopped out the mesh that they came with....too much like insect screen...for a nicer SS expanded mesh. Had to buy a sheet 1250 X 1250, for £40  and I used less than a quarter of it...so if anyone wants some nice SS mesh let me know.

I have also fitted the water temperature sensor into the block water drain position and wired it ready for the new water temp gauge, and fitted the oil temp and pressure senders, again for the new gauges.

I attach pictures of the first side vent clamped in position and the oil pressure/temp sender, which was a PITA to fit as the hole for the new pressure pot kept ending up around the back and therefore inaccessible....had to fit a thinned down fibre washer to get it positioned in the right place. I also had to drill and tap a nylon block so that the temp sender didn't bottom out...picture attached.

I also cleaned the wire wheel I currently have removed with MeGuires All Wheel and Tire, made a fantastic job, I highly recommend it.

Both side vents in....stainless steel bumpers have arrived from Vietnam....these should be the last big job.

Oh and passenger door card now in, had to trim it to make the door shut properly, the bottom was catching on the door seal. Easy enough as the leather is only attached with staples, pulled the leather off, trimmed then re-stapled....you would never know I had done it apart from the mess.

Fixing the window winder and door handle were both a real PITA....funny how it's the little jobs that are often the most awkward and time consuming !

Hope so Mike, I know at least 4 others who have bought them and they say the quality is great........haven't got mine out of the box yet though, I will let you know what I think. Should be trying to fit them later this week/next week. Fitting is fairly straightforward as they actually slide over the FG ones and are fixed from behind.

Both door cards in, interior door handles fitted, window winders fitted (they work the electric windows), central instruments cluster in and working.

Jobs left; door mirror (new one, I didn't like the old one), SS bumpers, engine plastics, badges, wash and brush up, then drive.

Looks the biz indeed. That tan brown really sets it off. The rear compartment is covered in vinyl / leather ? Would like to see how the seatbelts are hidden :)

Great job
