Ahh understand. I have changed my pedals. The mirror can be changed as well, when the new dash goes in....to a stalk one fixed to the dash top. I know why they didn't change it though, because if you do it vibrates so much you can hardly see out of the back. Roof latches can't be changed unfortunately....or not without major surgery anyway. Thanks though. :)

yep, I agree. Even though I have had mine altered it is still fairly obvious. Looks good top down though....apart from the quarter-lights.

Veglia dials...in Italiano. Centrally located ignition switch plus centrally located oil temp, oil pressure, clock, coolant temp and fuel gauges...with large rev counter and speedo in front of steering wheel. Plain leather central tunnel. Mechless DAB radio in small lefthand glovebox. Tall gear stick and re-positioned handbrake.

Yep, BMW dash goes completely except for the very front of it, under the windscreen, that has the de-mist vents in it. The centre console goes completely as well, and is replaced with a new, smooth, leather covered affair.

Heater controls are activated by pull controls under the dash...along with the fan and temp controls.....there are no "eye balls"....so heat (or cool) is just delivered up to the screen, or down on your feet...or both at once.

The "computer" is removed as is the fag lighter, front and rear fogs will be operated by period switching, four way flasher goes under dash along with an electric boot release. Steering wheel lock is removed and ignition switch moved to the central gauge console in the middle of the dash and a new 3d printed cowl fits behind the steering wheel. Then new carpets and new seats.

Sounds easy if you say it quick!

.... sounds like a piece of cake :)

Absolutely kidding ...

What seats you going for ? Already purchased ?

As my Kobra is a budget build I'm looking at reusing something like Ford Ka leather ones.

Loving how much effort you are putting into this. Love to see it next spring or summer

Yep Dave, new seats, leather covered with a rounded profile on the back that follows the contours of the new rear bulkhead, no headrests.
I bought them a while ago and they currently reside in the spare bedroom, with most of the rest of the interior. They actually bolt on to the existing seat frame, so electric functions are maintained.

However been cracking on, all the metal clips, including the end pieces that the old dash used to bolt too, have been cut off. The steering wheel lock has been cut off and the ignition cables released for transplanting into the middle of the new dash. The instrument binnacle has been dismantled and the circuit board extracted....This stays behind the new dash and the three colour coded plugs are still connected.

No going back now.

Start splicing in new cables shortly, for the new instrument set.

Wow. I cannot wait to see the results. Sounds like the best sorted DNA out there when it's done.
