The oil burner has sustained an injury.

As you can see it's spread from one of the numerous stone chips (it is 10 years old this year) anyway Autoglass relieved me of the excess on Thursday and will be here to replace the screen next Thursday.

To be honest it could do to be changed Malc, it has lots of chips in it especially after that day me and @Chaz Ricorn we're out in it.

I had a similar crack in my Z3 M Coupe windscreen back in 2017/18, caused by a small chip in the black zone at the edge. I remember the stone hitting the screen but couldn't find an impact point until I went in the garage to take the car out a few days later and found a huge crack in the screen ( real cold snap that winter). Cost me £100 excess instead of £60 so I could use a BMW dealer to repair - total cost £831!!
Thank goodness for insurance.

We went to the next village from us on Thursday to pay tribute to a friend who died 7 weeks ago as the hearse left the family home. It was on a narrow road so Shirl pulled up onto the kerb and I think the angle of the car encouraged the crack to form as we both noticed it on the 2 mile run back home.

Never a good time for spending money on something you don't want to spend it on!

My screen crack looked about the same as yours when I first discovered it. However by the time I went to get new screen fitted (Second time as first was non green band screen had been ordered) in April as the screen had to be back ordered from Germany, it was half way across the screen and would have failed MOT.

Had the screen go in the Freelander between having it valued and trading it in a week later. Was not amused. Ended up having to arranging the replacement at the car dealer after I took it in. Heated screen so no option to have the insurance pay plus excess.

That’s bad luck Ian. Once had a customer at a place used to work come in with a broken screen in his Alpine, so we popped another one in (back when they were in a rubber seal), then we did it all again the next day when the new one got smashed. These were toughened glass too and made a big mess!

I remember it well I couldn't believe the speed that guy was going on a newly chipped road, did you ever get his number from your camera ?

Yes mate I did and a decent picture of the idiot driving but I couldn't be arsed to follow it up Ian. It was a Fiat van, and if it had been an Italian driving I would never have caught him =))=))

Antonio ............. Someone said something similar after one of our Sept. cruises, can't remember who though;)
