I’ve un-SORN’d the Z3 and got it MOT’d and taxed. The garage had a right go at me for not driving it enough, said I wasn’t doing it any good (356 miles between MOTs), they want to see a significant improvement before I go back next year!

So I’ve been looking for events near me, and came across Breakfast@Browns, Leckhampstead near Newbury.

They meet up first Saturday of the month, basically turn up, enjoy a bacon butty and a chat, see some interesting cars, all in aid of Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

There was not a single Zed or BMW in sight, lots of MX5s, Minis, triumphs, MGs etc, so if you fancy making up a Zed contingent, see you next month? It’s a great location with a good run out through the country lanes.

Not a lot of photos as I was a bit late and got stuck in the queue for my bacon butty. I’m parked next to my brother’s Spitfire, and a lonely Riley, not sure what the plane is.

Did that go down on the certificate as an 'Advisory' ? They put any old tosh down these days
P.S Does the spitty have a 6 pot under that GT6 bonnet, or is it a 'sock down the trousers' job?

Yeah, not advisory but I’ve already done 140 miles since the MOT and I’ve just booked a ferry to France for a summer trip, so taking it very seriously!

The spitty is definitely a “sock down the trousers” job. I believe previous owner stuck a GT6 bonnet on it before repainting. It’s a late MKIV and he also swapped the 1300 engine for a 1500, I guess from a later Spitfire. Also has MX5 seats! The roof is shot to pieces so it’s permanently down, but all good fun!
