Just a little update, Been talking with EBC about the disks and pads I'm running from them. They have said I shouldn't be getting any issues with the disk and pad setup. They said the yellow stuffs are good for 700* temps, after some brain storming we think its the disks getting tired. The run out in the disk increases with the heat causing the judder and after 3 sets of yellow stuff pads they think its about time to refresh those front disks. Interestingly they also said don't go for the red stuffs.

I thought that was odd as well, but I just double checked the EBC website and that kind of confirms the yellows should be better for track. They also do Orange pads which are full race, but are supposed to be effective from cold making them good for street use as well. Maybe worth a look for the next set of pads when the discs are changed?

I think, but not certain that info is different from a couple of years ago?? but does seem the yellowstuff is the way to go for multiple track days and street work.

Found this interesting bit of info from a dyno test on the Orange stuff pads, it seems they haven't come across @Lee

"The lower curve on Lapsim 2 is the toughest test we can really do on a dyno, simulates massive brake energy and discs glowing bright orange through the brake cycle, highly doubtful any driver would race to these temps but the pads still held on to a very decent level of friction. Important to note that on this second test the cooling was halved, simulating a poorly vented brake system that can occur on street based cars without improved ducting."

I never had any luck with yellow stuff pads, new discs or not, I would wear out a full set by mid afternoon, they were not the correct compound for my style of driving, I was good on the blue stuff pads though.

This is the second track outing in my coupe, but not my first rodeo driving spirited... :D. Just to summarise the coupe did very well, in fact surprised me and my mate. We had a visit from a crew driving a V8 M3 who couldn't catch us along with others just being nosy. I was struggling with the brakes though, I have some EBC discs along with yellow stuff pads. The pads could only handle around 5 laps before needing to cool down so it's time to find some carbon pads. Car setup is not far from stock, the shocks being standard but only a few years old, on Eibach springs and uprated brakes. I've also power flexed a few bits here n there. I'm running federal RS-R track tyres which appear to be amazing so far. This was also the first time @Shortie_gal had ever done a track day and she loved it.

I've only uploaded one video for now but ill add some more later. This is a short clip of me and my mate in his MX5

The track seems so quiet, I went a couple of years ago in my clio 172 and it was busy, there was so much nice metal there that night that I haven't bothered going back.

Did it get busier?

That's what I like about MSV, only 20 cars allowed on track. stops it getting crowded. @Brian H like to use the brakes do we =))
