I have the same issue for the last two years, pretty sure its the abs pump, mine is a summer only car so just living with it for time being. Do not think to daunting a task to change the abs unit.

To use the cut method you have to cut from outside to the centre hole, then you can make a gap and “wind” it around the hub. Then you need the re weld the cut (spot wilds are fine).

Usually faults with the ABS pump will make the dash warning light come on.

You'll need to cut through the backplate to wrap it around. Otherwise it's a big old job pulling the hub.
Is pulling the hub a job that can be done at home by one person with the right tools? And the reassembly bit? For future reference haha

ABS light came on once, turned off ignition and it went off, expect it will return however car only used on high days and holidays.

Is pulling the hub a job that can be done at home by one person with the right tools? And the reassembly bit? For future reference haha
Potentially. It depends on what tools you have available and whether it's been out before. They are permanently loc-tited in the factory and can be difficult to remove if not taken off before unless a lot of heat and a 10-ton puller is used.

You'll also want to fit a new bearing.

Yeah mine only comes out in the dry weather , it’ll get stripped properly over the winter and inspected , don’t think it’s anything too major
