Just a quicky.... the other day I finally got under the car for a look and decided to clean up and remove any rust and undercoat though ended up doing the spare wheel / frame and even cleaning up the diff and painting gold
(my ocd is terrible
) anyway whilst under there I noticed that the boot has been welded, just a small weld every few inches now the reason I ask is that its under the rubbery undercoat so must have been done from the factory did they do that?
Also the whole car has very small amount of rust on each of the spot welds under the boot and under the bonnet, I have cleaned them and painted them but it must have happened when the car was being made so sometime after the shell was made and before it was primed it got wet, does anyone else have this? it was also on the extra welds in the boot another reason why I think the extra welds were done at the factory.
just a tip here.... hammerite gel rust remover is amazing you get back to nice shinny metal!!!!
