I am having issues with my boot not locking or unlocking with the remote each and every time I use the remote.
If I use the key in the boot all the doors will unlock or lock every time like it should.

Thinking it was the loom of doom I pulled it all apart but found no issues at all. Taped it all back up and still same issue. I can predict when it is not likely to unlock. What happens is this....... When I lock with the remote the boot will often lock but makes a bit of an electronic hum sound which lasts less than a second. Sure enough, it won't unlock with the remote next time I use it. If I use the key to unlock it all doors including the boot will unlock and all is well for a little while. then the issue arises again.

I have fiddled with the loom wires to the actuator but makes no difference.
I don't understand why the key will always make the whole system work with the occasional failure of the actuator using the remote.
Is the boot actuator failed and needs replacing or can this be easily fixed?
Any suggestions?

Cheers,

May be worth removing the boot solenoid and see if you can lubricate it somehow. Silicon spray good for these type of problems. Squirt some inside the boot on the push rod.

Tony.

Nice one Grumpy, by the way did you go through Banbury on Thursday in your truck as a saw one with name plates for the driver Grumpy and side kick Barry I weren't quick enough with the phone to get a shot but did make me chuckle and think of you.
No mate I've been away. Back to work Monday. Haven't got a name tag in my window but quite fancy one. :)

Yes mate. Tony thought it had been to tight on the rod. Backed it off, moved the plate and catch a bit and bingo. Been out tonight and it's been spot on.

Just driven home in the dark with the roof and windows down and it was lovely. Shame we don't get a bit more weather like this.

Did that 3 years ago, probably this weekend Dave as it was after a birthday party for our Abz who you met this afternoon, drove home from there's in my Z3 and when I got home my bloody hair was ALIVE. But yes it's great driving top down after dark and this time of year you get the smell of flowers and stuff you would miss in a tin top mate.

Tony.

Absolutely mate. Mints told us to try it last year after we left them after dark. It's quite a surreal feeling but very nice when it's warm enough to allow.

Top down driving after dark is the absolute best! Takes me back to my youth cruising in a 62 Implala convertible with a hot little lady beside me. If you don't do it you don't know what you are missing!! JIM

@ t-tony would gladly send you one but would your ticker take the strain of one from the sixties or would I have to worry about her??
@ Grumpy, don't have a 62 impala but do have a 61 Pontiac Parisienne convert that needs some finish work. I have most of the parts plus a new interior and hoods in white or black!! Let me know and I'll arrange shipment to the nearest port!! Google a pic, because they are pretty wide bodied!!
Oh yeah, so are some of the ladies for Tony!!
