Trying to find a bonnet badge for a friends 3.0 on ebay. Loads of 82mm ones but when I check compatibility most say it doesn`t fit. One says it fits a 3.2. Are all z3 bonnets the same in which case the 3.2 one will be ok?
Can anyone advise or give me a link to one that`s ok please. Friend only wants a cheap one. Thanks Alec

As far as I'm aware all Z3 bonnets are the same. Ebay's compatibility charts aren't very accurate

I recently (2 weeks ago) bought one for my 2.2 from ebay for £3.85 and it was fine. It even came in a BMW sealed bag with the correct part numbers on it. I did have to use a small piece of sandpaper to slim down the pins very slightly to make it a snug fit. It looks much better than the 17 year old original.

I would be grateful if you could post the link to this one Mike

Just fitted an 82mm emblem to the front of mine. Looks ok but tbh they can be a touch off centre and the mount points arent great on th ebay specials but considering it could be £100 for all 4 from bmw, £5 is fine. I actually used 3m circular sticky pads to put a few of mine on in the end.

The cheap ones don't last long in my experience.

Yes there’s loads on eBay it’s such a popular item ,the last one I bought £3.99 they don’t last long but it doesn’t seem like a lot to change them . I have one in a packet here and I might spray a coat of lacquer on it before fitting to see if that helps longevity lol

Yes they are stuck on, the badges are self adhesive but take care getting old ones off. Take the disc that the badge is fixed to off wheel as it is easier to do that way and also make cleaning off old adhesive easier.
Have you bought them yet ? Geoff
