If and when you come to sell the Zed your images of the damage will clear show that it wasn't a major crash which should help
Already got that taken care of....it looks a lot worse than it is. I cleaned it up after the assessment and came up well. Most of the marks buffed out.

It will help. But once a Cat C/D always a Cat C/D and best to assume even restored to perfect condition it will only ever be worth 60% of a non Cat'd car. Completely unfair I know.

Yes, you'll find Artic Silver panels easily enough if you are patient. Don't buy Titan Silver as it's a different colour. Unless you have your silvers the wrong way round - easy to check on bmwvin.

Find some nice secondhand ones and avoid the need for paint. You'll even be able to fit them yourselves with a bit of reading up. I'd be looking at paying £100 for a complete door, £40 for a wing and £20 for a grill. And that's tops. If the wing mirror is damaged they are not cheap - £125. You may have a bit of damage to the sill cover and possibly the inner wheel arch. Impossible to say from the picture. Hopefully bonnet okay, I can't even see the damage on the grill.

You could probably fit the secondhand parts in a day if you've read up fully. Someone who's done it before could do it in an afternoon, 2-4 hours. The fiddliest part will be transferring the lock barrel between doors. And it makes sense to service the window mechanism while you're in there. Make sure you get a door with all regulator mounting points intact. They fracture from the torque. Facelift doors seem better than pre-facelift but I guess that may just be an age thing.
The quote I had to repair and paint was £400 Plus the kidney panel from Eurocarparts.the wing mirror didn't need doing, the housing had just popped out but nothing was broken, so I was able to wedge it back in. I'll have a good go but I thought I could just get an outer door panel rather than a complete one. But everything is quite simple, I took the kidney panel off a few months ago to waxoyl it, very easy!

Have you managed to keep it insured though? does that carry on as normal?
Insurance hasn't changed yet.

Saw that the other day he said on a post the panels were spoken for but dont know what ones
Actually the buyer is not interested in the panels any more, so will be breaking a titan silver 1.9 in the new year.

Thanks to all for the links, I've PMed the OP.
