Has any one on here had dealings with a company called mad motors with respect to body kits. I'm only asking because I bought and have paid for a kit I was told it would be 3 to 4 weeks before it arrived that's ok I said and paid up. It got to the 4th week phoned and asked where we were up to and he said give him a call on Tuesday of following week, I duly did this and was told it had arrived at the warehouse and would be with me by the week end great I thought weekend came and went. So on Monday this week I phoned and emailed him again to ask if he had posted it just in case it had gone astray in the post, eventually I got him on the phone, he said he thought the warehouse had posted it and would look into it and would call me back. I waited till late afternoon no call so I called him, to be told that he had not been able to get hold of the warehouse there phones were down he would try in morning Tuesday of this week again I gave him till late Tuesday and phoned to be told he'd been trying to contact the warehouse phones were still down so he'd sent a email to try and find out he'd get back to me as soon as he had news it's now Thursday I've just tried to phone him and it's gone straight to answer phone, I'm beginning to get a little worried now I've paid my money and no kit. Just wondering if he's a conman.

Reviews don't look to good :sour:

Tried to get onto their website and it wouldn't load.

I have just managed to get hold of him just this minute he has now told me that the warehouse he deals with in Europe has close for first 2 weeks of August they should be back on Monday and my kit will be one of the first in the post so I will have it for following weekend. He also said he has around another 12 orders that should have gone out that are sat on factory floor in poland. Now I know when I placed the order he told me they come from America, he says no he didn't he says he told me Poland. So now I will give it next week then I'm getting hold of my credit card people to see what I can do if anything.

Frustrating when you order something, pay for it and then have to chase constantly to find out where the hell it is!!

People try making money quickly by selling or buying from abroad, and don't bother to let you know about potential delay (which there always are).

Hope your able to get it sorted out, without another dozen phone calls.

Definitely leave a review once you have your stuff though.

Well we used to have "factory fortnight" here at one time (in the days when we had them) I ordered something from Schmiedmann in Denmark and had to wait a month for it to arrive because they close the warehouse for summer break.. You're probably right not to be too hasty with cancellation... Although it's not encouraging that they weren't clear about the origins of your order.

I will certainly leave a review. When I placed the order I felt quite comfortable with the guy on the phone who is the only one that's there. He phoned me 3 times to check what z'd I had which body then phoned to explain that he could only get front and sides but not rear for mine as it's a narrow body, so I thought great guy and thanked him and he said he didn't want to sell me some thing that was not going to fit, and he'd checked every where to see if he could find a rear to suit. Then he even adjusted price to suit so I thought nothing of placing an order and paying. I'm hoping I didn't get it wrong but as I say I will give him another week.

Yes I have found out from a friend in Finland that that is what happens in Europe at end of school term, and as you say it use to happen here when I cast my mind back especially in the building industry and roads they gear down and just do maintenance.

You say you've paid by credit card? If so they will refund you and get the money back from the seller. Sounds poor, Sorry to here it's not going to plan. I would be rather annoyed by now. :arghh:

I am but I am staying calm at moment but look out when the blue touch paper is lit as my partner can vouch for she has seen it lit and what happens. I'm likely to get in car and arrive at his office and be sat outside when he arrives for work.lol he won't like me then.

Well i'm sure you'd rather have your kit so let's hope for a decent outcome first. If not..........yep pop down and pay him a visit.

I bought a similar kit from them, no problems and arrived quick and the guy was helpful, got a bit of discount too I think. It does come from Poland (in a mahooosive box!).

The story of factories closed sounds right, those silly Europeans have this crazy idea that they should let staff off during the good weather so they can enjoy a bit of summer in August (can somebody tell the weather gods of England that it can stop p*ssing down now)

Hope all works out in the end - can't wait to see the kit fitted!

I hope it dose I really need to get it sorted for first week of September as I have been over to see the guy at the paint shop and chose and order all the paint for the respray this week totally different colour candy red with a difference Holigraffic flake added.
He is putting all the new wings and kit on and he's going to fit the new soft top with me at his shop so if we mark the paint he can sort its great having a family member with a paint shop. That's happening first week of September can't wait

Would suggest you speak to the credit card company now. They will put a hold on the payment pending further investigation. They give you a month to prove why you want the money back and will contact the vendor but although you may upset the vendor your money will be safe if the goods do not turn up

I think there could be a problem with that as it went out 4 weeks ago we are now approaching 6 weeks. But I think if I contact the card company and explain the situation and that I've not received what I ordered I have an insurance which is supposed to cover it and then they take the issue up least I think that's how it works.

It sounds to me like you were just unlucky to hit the summer shut down, just a shame the seller hadn't alerted you that fact. It should all work out well, when you leave him feedback perhaps suggest he puts that on his sale info so customers are warned. Look forwards to seeing a candy apple red Z3.:)

Tony.

To update the body kit problem I posted ref Mad motors I am now 2 months on since placing the order and paying. I have been on the phone again this week to the guy in there sales goes by the name of Rob. On Monday morning at 9am I phoned and he told me he was expecting it in that day so I phoned back again at 16.30 to check. No it had not turned up SURPRISE but he did say he was there till 18.00 so there was still time for it to turn up phone up in morning, this was today to check. I did this at mid day and SURPRISE no it wasn't actually a surprise it had not come in and he could not seem to get hold of any one at the factory to find out where it was.
I have now given him until Friday and if no body kit I want my money back this he has agreed to I'm not going to hold my breath.
In fairness to him ( see I am a reasonable guy ) I have found out from another supplier that if they were to order it there could be a long wait because of the factory in Poland that makes the kits. It's a shame as I was looking forward to having this kit on but I can't wait any longer as I've now stripped all the body off and car is booked into paint shop for first of September so it will go back to together with new front wings first class rust free rear wings and new side skirts from local BMW dealer. I can't wait to get her back on the road it's been off the road now since end of May and has had an extensive rebuild underneath brakes and running gear and suspension.
So any one thinking of ordering a body kit from any where it would seam you will have a long wait.

That is a real shame mate, but however it goes back together I hope you get some good miles in while the weather is reasonably ok.
