I'm not sure if this has already been covered (I don't fancy reading through 8 pages of this thread) and I'm assuming the parade lap of the circuit is still on for the Saturday ? If so last year one of the biggest areas of confusion was with regard to the required indemnity forms for the parade lap ie no one could participate unless one of these was completed which resulted in a wrist band being provided as proof. This only happened minutes before the parade lap was due and was a bit of a farce with the guy riding around on his scooter shouting at people :-@

So would it be possible to arrange ways to get these completed in a more controlled / organised way:

- ability to download form and complete before / take with you completed (to avoid the "who's got a pen" situations)
- handed out on arrival for completion (lack of pens will be an issue)
- available at the BMWCC tent for completion (with plenty of pens)

People can then be advised how / when they will get their wristband (assuming these are still required).

Its one of those things that I think was unexpected last year and a little planning / awareness would make things go a lot smoother.

Apologise if this has already been dealt with.

Jon
I see you have been refeshed :beer this weekend and you now have your
LETS GET IT SORTED HAT ON
Good idea it was a fiasco last year

Just to add this too, we wasted an awfull lot of time 'waitng' by our cars so we didnt miss the highlight of the day last year, the parade lap. We would have loved to have seen alot more of what was there but with the time being changed and altered a few times we lost a few hours. I am not critising as we had great company whilst having a picnic :D but i think at approx 6pm it will free up alot more of the day for us all, so thats good news :-bd .

And, i must remember what a PARADE LAP is - being chased by loads of Z4's - rascals :D (and there i was, thinking it would be a nice peaceful drive round =)) )

Hi Gill

I belive it was me chasing your rear Mmmm :steer1)

I disagree that it was a 'fiasco' Boysie. We managed to get ~300 Zeds onto the track at the same time during the lunch break of a packed racing programme. I have conceded that we could have organised it better had we got advance notice from Silverstone about the wristbands...but we didn't. Nonetheless as soon as we found out at approx 10:15 several of us from the BMWCCGB chased up as many zed owners as we could find to notify them.

That's all in the past now and we intend to learn from it. As always the club is happy to hear from those who want to 'get it sorted' and welcome volunteers who want to help run events like this. If anyone would like to help out at zedfest 2013 then feel free to get in touch.

It did turn out ok in the end Mark
if you were in the right place at the right time
Mybe fiasco was bit strong,
It was not meant as a personal insult at those who volunteered there
time and energy into a great event
But I would never have done a lap if i had not been nosey
I asked somebody, what are the wrist band for
i then went quickly looking for the persons handing these out

Is there a difference between farce and fiasco ?

the only issue i had was regarding the wrist straps.

obtained mine by word of mouth.

:)

Hi Ian,

I booked my tickets for Fri and Sat a couple of weeks ago but have only just got round to getting on the forum to let you know. Will you add me to the list?

I won't be stopping at the hotel but will be meeting you all at the hotel for the cruise in on Saturday morning :coolsteer)

Got our tickets for the weekend!

Sandy & I finally got round to booking our Silverstone tickets for Saturday, Ian. Please add us to the list.
Thanks
Mike.

I will aim to be at the Holiday Inn MK for 08.00am. Thanks.

Phil

Sorry trying to get to grips with the forums!! How do I go about booking tickets to get on a stand for this for the 3 days :o)

If you look at the very first post on this thread you will see the ticket buying details. The main Zed event is the Saturday, so whichever ticket you get make sure it has Saturday included!

When you have ordered your tickets, out a note here and Ian (Myredzed) will add you to the official list.

Then you need to decide on whether you want to meet us at the track on Saturday, or come and join the Zed convoy from the hotel. We had a 34 zed convoy last year, and hope to blow that out the water this year :). If you join the convoy you will end up parked in with this group. Either way you will end up surrounded by more Zeds than you can imagine.

I went for 2 days last year sat/ sun .

Not much happening on the sun at all.

I'd advise booking fri/sat only .
