Well I think this time of the year must be the one for running into BMW's:( as it happened to me the weekend:woot:
the driver of the other car a Vauxhall Cavalier was absolutely distraught I think the front of his car will need replacing bumper and valance totally smashed up:nailbiting:
the good news is I was not in Zelda:whistle: but my X3 WITH A TOW HOOK ON IT after inspecting the the rear of my car I wished him well on his homeward journey, if I was in Zelda i'm sure this little right up would be slightly different.=))

Had this a few years ago a car rear ended me on the roundabout, smashing into my tow bar, all the damage appeared to be to his car not a scratch on mine, did not take any info from him and went on my way, was I sorry, cost me a fortune to replace all the bulbs that had been damaged due to the collision, and had to write the car off (Only an old get about car thankfully), as the impact had creased the inside of the boot where the tow bar was bolted and failed the MOT because of it. Lesson Learned!

About a year ago , driving a 525 e61 [no tow bar fitted that day]a very nice lady stopped to let me into the traffic Q , unfortunately 300yds down the road her foot slipped on pedal [result of 6" heels I think, although my daughter says they are easy to drive in],result she did £800 damage to my car.
I really ,genuinely felt sorry for her, no argument about repairs she worked for Imperial Tobacco and they just sorted it out direct with garage.
again lot of the cash was plastic rear lights and bulbs. Size of bill surprising consider the visual damage, but her company insisted on proper job. They were more worried if I was claiming for personal injury, told them NO and they were so good in sorting car out.

A few month after I stopped at a roundabout and a Caviller ran into the rear of me, made a real mess of itself never saw him coming,as I was in sons Isuzu DMax with a 3.5 tonne tow bar setup on a typical truck bumper. [moved the DMax forward about 6ft and I had footbrake on] Still cost £250 to get bumper realigned though, and chassis checked .Driver thought I could have got in-between 2 of the three 40ft trucks that were on the roundabout, says he was doing about 5 mph. Just looked at photos of his car , he required ---area below grill smashed --bonnet bent back -- Number plate --- don't know internals but radiators was pushed back in fan, water over road ,few other bits seemed smashed under bonnet. He lived 4 mile away so drove it home.!!!!

Again his insurance seemed more concerned about any injury claim, really does annoy me the insurers are concerned because of all the false claims going on. In fact in this case I had two calls from company's who knew the details of the incident.

Then a few month ago in Z3 on dual carriage way I stopped very quickly as the traffic in front stopped [we were all dazzled by the sun ,road uphill directly into it],heard a squealing of brakes and watched a white van completely loose it behind me [I had roof off],he skidded weaving across the road went past me on inside and caught the rear corner, it polished out ,just the rubber off his bumper, that was so lucky.

now have tow bars on both X1 and QQ but don't think it will suit Z3.

Don't know how to attach photos.
