Appalling!
yes 12 month MOT .. a BMW approved car !!!So, did this car have a full 12 months M.O.T certificate issued as you bought the car? If so, then if the front shockers are really that bad it should be reported to the DVSA.
Tony.
BMW UK have a copy of the report.. and are on the case. I hope to get a full refund today + cost, flight etc..It is shocking how bad the car is. If the car is as bad as BMW Cambridge say it is, BMW HQ need to know about it.
If BMW were to investigate the dealer they can be stripped of there franchise mate. Happened in Mansfield with our local Renault Dealer years ago.And do what exactly... ?
Here's something minor but interesting ref main dealer / MOT My current car is a 14 Mazda 6, the headlights have never been great, always seemed to low so I asked Mazda at service to check them, nothing wrong with them sir was the reply, I subsequently complained probably another 3 or 4 times then gave up. Beginning of Dec the car went for its MOT (independent garage) Tester came back with a all OK. Oh by the way he said, I have adjusted your headlights, they were too low!!! I now have good headlights on a car that will be returned to the leasing company in about 2 weeksWhich is why I said it's more important that the M.O.T. issue should be brought to the attention of the DVSA regardless of BMW itself.
Tony.
Shame the dealer didn't check them when asked though isn't itI would say that without fail every car that I test for the first time the headlights are aimed too low. Obviously never checked properly on PDI, just that they illuminate.
Tony.
I don't know of any Dealers in Lincoln who don't do M.O.T.s Ian

My Mazda main dealer does MOTs they just cant be arsed half the time to check things, told me once that my wiper blades didnt need changing even though I had cut them to make sure they did, that caused them some severe embarrassment when I collected the car and I asked to speak to the service manager who was also adamant that they had been checked and were OK ....... until I showed him the wipers. Total tossers.I suspect that because dealers don't do MOTs they don't have and won't buy the equipment to test headlight alignment - they simply check against a wall and anything close to ok passes. CBA to test them properly.
The freelander failed last year when I had told the dealer to set the adjustment prior to the test because I knew it was out. Instead they let it get a fail at the MoT centre and let them adjust them. Not amused.
