You can actually.
Take a picture and report the pothole, ask for an insurance compensation claim form. I can’t remember the whole procedure, lengthy, but I have claimed in the past for burst tyres.

And I’ve just been informed you can actually do this all online with some Scottish Cooncils.

Good luck, I smashed a wheel on the Alpina (£600 replacement from Alpina) plus both OS tyres so over 1k in damages. Got nowhere with the HWs or council other than see you in court.

Here's what I hit at about 40mph at night when it was full of water, had no chance of seeing it. Took this at 8 the next morning then contacted them by 10am. By 5 that evening when I went home it was filled.

Are the joy's of big wheels with low profile tyres. Not enough side wall and air to cushion the impact. Just been through this with a friends daughters car (not a Zed). Gone from 19" to 17" wheels. Couldn't get 19"'s for love nor money as everyone else had been having bent wheels as well and used up local stock (new and second hand). A new set of 17" fixed the problem.
