Had a proper incident last Tuesday night, I was coming home from Crib in the next village (yes I know, old before my time) in the Alpina and decided as it was late to go home via the B roads as it would be quiet, normally dont do this and stay on the A Roads at night. Away look what I hit! The result is a wrecked tyre and a badly bent front wheel and until I get the car back to the Shed I'm not sure if there is any other damage. To say I'm p***** off is an understatement.:mad::mad::mad:

That looks like it could have been worse mate. That hole would cripple a tank. Hope the damage isn't too bad

That's grim @Nodzed lucky you didn't go off the road hitting that. There are some terrible holes about now after the recent weather and up here they are trying to do a quick fill by spraying tar into the wet pot holes!!!!!. Hope there is no more damage.

Where there's blame there's a claim. We have plenty of those around here too and they are budging them by filling with tarmac and going over with a wacker plate. Should last a week or two!
Fingers crossed you have no suspension damage and the wheel straightens ok.

That’s not a pothole...it’s a shell crater.

I know how you feel. I had the same thing two years ago in my daily driver. I hit what I thought was a puddle but turned out to be closer to a tank trap. That cost just on £2K to sort out, with two new wheels, three tyres and all the alignment stuff.

:(

I battled with the Council for about 6 months and got absolutely nowhere.

Hopefully yours will be a lot "cheaper" and just need a new tyre and the wheel sorting out....... Good luck

Thats unfortunate Niall hopefully the wheel can be repaired .
What damage did the tyre sustain
Alignment check a definite once wheel repair done.

Round here it's a bag of "rake and roll" in the hole, then drive over it a couple of times with the Transit and bu55er off for a well-earned cup of tea. Tw@s. Suppose it guarantees them a job in another couple of months.

I hit a big one on the way home today, no way of seeing it as it was under a puddle

Christ that’s what you call a pot hole mate, can’t you claim?

Email sent, we will see, given the size of it I would hope so

No reply then yet mate? Don't expect them to rush. Our roads are shocking at the minute around here.

Have seen pot-holers go down smaller caves than that!
Enormous holes appearing everywhere. Don’t think many will be filled anytime soon.

Hope the damage is no more extensive than what’s visible.

I feel your pain, 2 tyres knackered within a month in separate vehicles!
