Just watching the TV news in Central Florida on WFTV.com and they've announced that sometime this November there will be a launch of the most powerful rocket ever from the Florida Space Coast. I really hope it's while we're there as we would definitely go out to the coast to see that. This rocket will be bigger and more powerful than the Saturn rockets they used to send men to the moon, and they plan to land the boosters, two on land and one on the "drone" ship out at sea.
We went to see the second to last Shuttle launch and it was an awesome experience to see, hear, and FEEL even from about 10 miles away. It was an early start but we saw it and were back in a Denny's on I-Drive for breakfast before 9.00 am. Fingers crossed.

Tony.

Hope it coincides with your visit Tony. I would love to witness something like that.

Would be amazing @t-tony we were in Florida June 2016 and there just happened to be a rocket launch from cape with a small satellite which we witnessed. It was a great experience. Much bigger and more powerful would be awesome to witness

Me too Phil, that Shuttle launch really was something else. After lift off for about maybe 15-20 seconds the vehicle disappeared through the cloud ceiling and was lost to sight, but, about 10-12 seconds later you could feel the vibrations through your body from the rockets. Mega !!

Loads of rockets in them pics......
Nice telegraph pole though,

We were 10 miles from the launch pad mate and had no idea exactly where it would go up as I didn't take my binoculars so it was a bit of pot luck, wait for the smoke and take pictures.;) The added interest was where the folks were wading in the water in the second pictures at one time a pod of dolphins came swimming past them, even turning back to take another look at these weird creatures in their water. You don't get that here in England !!;)
