Stolen from FB but very impressive, still on original engine but doesn't say what engine
miles.webp

I used to get taxis to the airport for business trips. One day a new driver/cab appeared with an E Class Merc diesel. I got into the habit of looking at the miileage of the cabs I used - this one, like the pic above, showed over 450k miles. It went along very well with no noticeable rattles, clonks or whines. I asked the driver if the mileage was genuine. He said that he'd had it from new and apart from servicing, brakes and tyres it had only needed a new set of injectors. Have to say I was quite impressed....

I have a guy near me at work that rents out taxis, he only uses Mondeo's and has a number of them that are on 400,000 plus miles

That's nothing, remember Trigger had the same sweeping brush all through his working life. It never wore out and it only had twenty new handles and thirty new heads.:)

Parts, were what I was thinking about re; Trigger. I know people who ,for example, have an MGB with big mileages, but just about the whole car has been replaced several times. So perhaps more interesting is big mileage on original car. The wife had a Toyota Corolla years ago, did well over 100k with no new parts whatsoever. Just normal services apart from new back box and battery. Even still had original discs.
