Big fish

At our Saturday street market today, that is only held the first Saturday of every month, I bought a smoked mackerel and its bloody huge.
This might not sound that exciting, but, he smokes them after you order while you stand there with a beer and wait.

Down side is, you walk away smelling like a kipper.....

I bet that's not the only place in your town you leave smelling like a kipper, Mike ;) =))

They are called snack bars Jimbo, there are no fish & chip shops over here.
I should know, as I live here.
Call 'em whatever but they sell fish and chips and don't matter which country you're in they're still fish and chip joints!! JIM

Wasting my time again Jimbo, they are not like the ones in the UK but you would not know as you have never been there,

How am I wasting your time Mike?? You are the one prolonging this! You didn't need to respond to my post but you just can't resist trying to prove how superior your knowledge is, can you?? JIM

Inbetween the wars when the big herring shoals migrated through the North Sea it was considered a hot spot for tuna fishing, all the big game fishermen of their day, Hemmingway, Grey etc used to come and fish off of Whitby and the other North sea ports.

I remember seeing something on local TV about Hemmingway come to fish off the Yorkshire coast.

Tony.

Brunssum next to the base!?

You mean "canadian corner"

This is a fishy thread, but just two points :
- Eating Fish and chips from out of grease proof paper and newspaper on a cold UK night. Great . The only food that should be served in paper.
- Kippers with a slice of toast for breakfast, yum,yum !
