Things we do in work from time to time ( things like some hub nuts ) where 1/2 inch stuff ( bars especially) are over stressed
3/4 allows a substantial extra amount of applied torque before the tool gives which when needed will be really handy

I have to admit that the sliding Tee bar in my 3/4" socket set is slightly bent following it's untimely meeting with a length of scaffold tube
Sometimes needs must .........................., but it didn't break

Keep a 1m length of scaffolding tube too. It was recovered from what was a double swing made for the boys by the father in law. Heavy duty playtime equipment!
Think there’s still a longer bit behind the shed if anyone wants a one themselves.
