Tesco car park today. C-in-C comes out from shopping to find the alarm on Betty the Yeti in full chat. A witness heard a bang and Tesco have footage but no visible plate number. Been informed very minor damage luckily but furious that people just drive off. The C-in-C will report it to the Police and take it from there.

If I was King for a day

Thats crap mate, we see it everyday at work
A couple of very minor scuffs on the front bumper mate but I'll have a good look when home next weekend after I've washed her. Makes my p**s boil mate

Heres a couple of recent ones for you,
An old chap was approaching is Merc in Tesco car park when he see a woman pushing a trolly and using her phone, she crashed the trolly into his car and walked off, he approached and was bluntly told to "f*** off",

we have had 2 cycle instances in recently, a Hond civic, cyclist hit it, rolled over the bonnet causing major damage, grabbed his bike and rode off, bill was £300,
we have one in now, brand new Seat Leon, cyclist hit the front quarter and bolted, damaged bonnet, bumper, A post, front wing, drivers door and new door mirror, bill in excess of £650

Then people wonder why some say cycles should registered.

Tony.

Years ago when i had my Ford Orion 1600i Ghia (much much cleaner than Bella) i heard a smack and then the alarm go off. Went outside to see a young lad, about 8, getting up off the floor. He'd been chasing parked cars, we've all been there. Made sure he was ok then he was off like a robbers dog so I followed at a good distance so as not to alarm the lad. Knocked on the front door to a lady whose first words were 'he was abused as a child' oooooooh and back away thought me toot suite :nailbiting: phoned the Rozzers to be informed that as he was under 10 he's deemed not to be responsible for his actions. Not an issue as this happens with children so surely the parents will agree to foot the bill? Not a chance  big gouge across the bonnet, cracked indicator light and gouge in the bumper = hike in insurance premiums.

It's all pants mate

Thats crap mate. Kim went to our sons back end of last year and when she came out we had 3 dings and another bigger dent on the rear quarter

Worst thing i ever saw was in a Sainsburys car park. I was loading my tools into the car and the car in front with a woman of around 150 years of age started to reverse out and clipped the front wing on the car parked next to her, she stopped then started to reverse again but put it on full lock and went down the whole side of the car and pulled the rear bumper off, she just carried on and drove away

People just don't give a s**t mate! A car for the most part is the second most expensive thing we buy after a house for most if us. No note then

Just oblivious to the fact mate :bashhead:

Must say I find the cyclist incidents dubious @Sean d, if a bike hits a car it's likely to damage the front wheel at least. Was the driver pulling out in front of the cyclist? This happens all the time in my experience both as a driver and cyclist. Fact is there are far and away more dangerous motorists than cyclists.

I'm only going on the customers words, however I don't see any reason for them to be lying as if it was the other way around the cyclist would be making a nice claim.
The seat has got black trye marks all over the front wing and door so the cyclist wheel certainly took a hit

There's always one @Sean d, I just don't understand the motorist v cyclist narrative! There are idiots, some are cyclists, some drivers, some football fans, etc, etc. But there are certainly more bad drivers than cyclists. Just ride a bike around for a while and see!

Had the drivers side door mirror knocked off my e46 a couple of weeks ago by a German lady in a hire car. How do I know it was a tourist? Because she went to every house in the street to find out who owned the shiny BMW, went to the cash machine opposite, and handed over a hundred quid to get myself a new (ebay) one. Bl**dy foreigners, eh? Makes me glad we're leaving Europe, they come over here being all honest, not like our home-grown scum.;)

Very annoying Andy but Betty will be repaired, she'll be as good as new again soon.

That happened to me two weeks ago on my Blade. I now have a tow hook dent in my bonnet and the grilles are cracked. B****r left without leaving a note, even to say "sorry". Neighbours said it was an older grey SUV, but so far haven't spotted it. GRR!

So, the cyclist are likely to have hurt themselves to have caused that much damage. Does that count as failing to stop and failing to report an accident where injuries are sustained =))
