Hi, I am changing the water pump and have released the water pump drive belt but cannot see how to take the tension off the A/C drive belt. Any tips please.
New Male pump looks well made with metal impeller.
Thanks, Michael

Take the cap off the tensioner and use a socket on the nut.

There is no nut just a hex stud and the tension wheel has a cylinder loading the wheel.

Put a spanner or socket on the stud that is under the plastic cap on the pulley and attempt to tighten the bolt. The adjuster then comes into play.

Thanks for the tips. All done and dusted. The old pump was quite stiff and I think the bearings were about to lock up at less than 60k.

I replaced my water pump a few months ago and had heck of a job getting the old pump out of the block - there is a thread on it somewhere.
Good job!
