.....and now on honeymoon in Jersey for a couple of weeks. Claire, my newly married wife, is busy sleeping after a day's vigorous exercise, which has mostly involved cliff side walks. But then again I am 50 so I do need a break from the more traditional honeymoon exercises!

So - I'm taking the opportunity to update on my slightly neglected Z3 that has been SORN'd over the winter and which needs some attention when I get back. I've got my shortlist of jobs to prioritise this year (well actually its quite a long list), but the main focus is brake overhaul, starting to uprate the fairly well worn and frankly iffy handling, leather upholstery refurb and a few functional bits like new wind deflector etc.

My aim each year is to make the car better at the end of the year than it was at at the start. In my first winter of Zed ownership I think I've learned that SORNing is probably more trouble than its worth and won't bother next year.

More updates will be as I get stuck into this lot - the really useful tips and pics on the site have already been really valuable. Keep posting them please.......!

Have a great break and treat your new wife. The Zed will be ok for a few weeks. Relax with a couple of these each :beer

@mktommo Congrats mate hope you have a good break, don't wear yourself out with all that honeymoon stuff (I mean all that cliff walking etc. etc.) save some energy for working on the Zed when you home :D

Congratulations to you both, enjoy your honeymoon, the Z can wait till you get home. May you spend many years together enjoying the Z.:beer:beer

Tony.

Congratulations great news, but I have a different take on Z business while on honeymoon ,get it done. Its much better that your " better half " understands from the start how important the z is in the scheme of things.I couldn't take my bike on honeymoon so after a couple of days I hired one.weve been together 36 years and my long suffering better half has always understood how much I enjoy the bike. You have to compromise on other things which is only fair.but it's always good to know from the beging, hope she's understanding ;) goof luck with your future together

weve been together 36 years

We've been married 36 years Hugh but got together just after the long, hot summer of '76 in 1977. Don't seem like 5 minutes .................................................... ;)

Congratulations from "The Mints" :)
From a wife's perspective you need to take her out in the Z and come to some meets. If she enjoys the nice part of owning a Z you'll be allowed to spend time fettling :)
In the meantime have a lovely honeymoon

Thanks everyone - its another holiday afternoon nap time again here in Jersey...... We'll both be out in the z this summer and we've agreed that we'll will make at least one meet. I think we'll need something to look forward to once the honeymoon period's over! :)
