What to get? I replaced indicators and running lights with LED -- however the beams are a different story -- that 'hb3' I see have a heatsink and a fan -- a fan that size WILL fail LONG before the LED does anyway, so bad idea.
So what's the bulbs to get? same for normal beams...

Forget LED for headlight bulbs, better to use such as Night breaker or other such extra bright dip and main beam bulbs.

I took a flyer on some cheap HID's on eBay, they have very small pre wired ballast and correct plug fitted. A quick start and give a very crisp white light with a blue tinge and the beam pattern as standard. Night breakers in the main beams.

Hi - do you have details of the Ebay HID kit? Do they still work? Do you have to mount the ballast outside the main headlight light housing & drill & gromet a hole for the lamp feed from the ballast? Do they work ok pattern wise in main beam too?

Thanks, looking now.
Wondered if anyone could recomend ones that fit easily with smallest ballasts & filters & last longest?

Yep still working great, just fit the bulb and cable tie the ballast to the wiring loome that runs under the slam panel. Wish I could find the eBay details so I could buy some more. I wouldn't use HID in main beam as the startup is too slow. I'm thinking of giving some LED's a go next?

LED in main beam worth a shot but not for dipped beam.

Be aware that Devon Z is referring to his Z3 not a Z4. The slam panel is what the bonnet closes down onto. Your headlights are mounted behind the front bumper and not anywhere near the slam panel on your car.

Ah didn't realise it was a Z4? no details in his profile, wondered why he was talking about drilling holes in covers!
