Is this a good idea? We head off to the coast for the weekend and book in to the digs then drive in convoy at about 6pm to a beach for a BBQ and a swim for the keen types then back to the digs for some beers. Next day cruise home in convoy via the scenic route stopping for lunch In a country pub then head off home. If the weather does not play ball we go for a curry instead of the beach BBQ. I am thinking somewhere on the North Wales coast possibly driving back through Snowdonia and probably have to restrict it to 10 cars. What are your thoughts?

Yup, different is good.

I'm up for that. Beach BBQ sounds great

What a lovely idea :p
You see lots of beach BBQ abroad ;)
But are you allowed to do it here :)

Swansea beach wouldn’t be Swansea beach without the kids and their BBQs.

We’re only talking those little disposable things though. I’m not sure I’ve seen anything bigger like you’d have in your garden. But then that isn’t going to fit in a Z3 anyway!

Just do it, taking sensible precautions. Don't think there is a risk of long term imprisonment.:)

Swansea beach is beautiful :p
I've been their many a times when I was in my teens :)

We just need somebody near Swansea Beach to organise it now.

I'd prefer St Tropez =))

place is full of bl**dy tourists already.
Tell me about it!!! Pirate weekend in Brixham this weekend, bloody great big Spanish galion coming onto the marina tomorrow ready for it! place with be heaving with drunken pirates all trying to be Jonny Depp!!

Newgale beach is one of the best I’ve ever been too. Has a campsite on the beach too (probably booked up though). Or Broadhaven. The beaches in SWales are superb.

NWales it’s got to be Harlech - wonderful

If you say to a taxi driver take me to St Tropez in Swindon you'll end up in the town centre 'massage parlour'. I only know because a mate told me he once accidentally answered his phone to his wife in there while he was with an 'operative'. Studio 95 in Swansea btw. I only know because a mate once told me...

If anyone does end up in Swansea it's obligatory to stay in an Oystermouth Road B&B. The locals all look down their noses as they are stuck in the 1970s but I love 'em. From £20 a night and if you get a room at the front I doubt you'll get a better view cheaper anywhere in the country as they are just yards from the sea.

Btw the Swansea tourist advice might genuinely be useful to anyone planning an overnight stay if they are visiting Jack Smith. He's literally a 10 min walk away.

So South Wales is full for the Summer then. That leaves mid Wales and North Wales. St David’s has a nice secluded cove with parking at the top of the cliff. Harlech and Shell Island possible as well.
