Just back from the breakers.
Fitted my old wheelhubs, and the problem is exactly the same. So it is surely not my wheel hubs that are the problem.
The breakers said if I torque the bolts up really thight, the hub would come more together and the problem might solve itselve.
Does anyone have some document on which he/she can check the normal torque settings for these bolts? (the 2 bottom bolts that hold the Mc-Phearson to the wheelhub).
I've put them to 80Nm now and the space has reduced to 0.4mm

107Nm for the steering knuckle to spring strut, ref: 4AZ in the BMW TIS. Also advises replacement bolts.

Thx.
Unfortunately I don't have the bmw tis (yet). Does it exist somewhere online?

If I don't want to go to a main stealer, what do you guys advice to get all these new bolts from?

Regards, Koen

That would be a waste of money in my case as I'm ditching the BMW-OBD-output (with my ECU-convertion)
Don't think of it as a waste of money, you get the full TIS and free diagnostic software, there is a seller just selling the discs for £9.99 if you search eBay.

I recommend buying all the fasteners from the dealers as they are confirmed as being manufactured orrectly and to be the correct grade for the job.

I cant see having 0.4 mm gap and issue on a car. You wont notice any movement.

Uk-supplier has now talked to the factory.
They also tell the gap shouldn't be any issue.
But still they are going to sent me some washers (hope they will be uneven washers) to fill the gap.

Just to chime in on this. I've just fitted over the post couple of days three of the four sets (owing to a stuck bolt ) and they seem to have fitted properly

I put all bolts in loosely, then tightened gently, then torqued to the right setting
If you do it like that, it is less obvious.
And it is possible that mine where a little more "of" than normally.
I still believe that in this case their quality boundries could/should allow less tolerance.

But I'm sure it will be ok.
