Bbs wheels

There is a set of bbs lm reps for sale 8and 9" offset 45 im quite interested in

You will have a lot more choice if you go for these and are likely to find a set in better condition. Mine are 35 offset all round and fill the arches nicely.

All of them are rubbish and buckle at the first opportunity

There is a very good reason that real LMs are £2000+

Mine have been on 7 years now and are still just as straight as when I got them. Yes I would love a set of genuine ones, but they are hard to find in the correct specs and they cost a fortune. I don't see the point of putting a set of wheels on the car that cost double the price of what the car cost. Plus if I was to buckle/wreck a genuine one I would be stuffed at finding a like for like replacement or it would be at a massive expensive. If I buckle a rep I can pick up another fairly cheap, so I don't mind as much if I buckle or wreck one. I'm pretty certain if I tried hard enough I could obliterate a genuine LM as much as I could a replica, it all depends on how reckless you are with them.

If I had a car worth 10K plus then I would fit a genuine set, but for now I'm happy with my reps and they have done the job on mine for the last 7 years

I find those remarks quite insulting, inferring they are rubbish just because they are not £2k
There are plenty of people on here running replicas, and even cars costing less than £2k. People get what they can afford, and evidence to the contrary show that your sweeping view is incorrect :
Mine have been on 7 years now and are still just as straight as when I got them.

All wheels can be damaged, even brand new expensive E89 wheels that regularly crack.

G8JKA is a bit more diplomatic about his "rubbish" wheels, I wont be...
Remember before you rubbish things it may be all that people can afford, and something they probably are quite proud of.
Bad show.

Not rubbishing people's budgets or what they want to buy.

Just in my opinion of running both real and replica bbs in the past is that the replicas aren't great. I won't even get into the fake split rim thing.

Also I'm not inferring that because bbs are expensive they are better... They are just better made.

Nobody races on replica bbs wheels

Just like lots if things in life, better made stuff costs more money. And everyone has different budgets.

BMW > Kia
Dyson > Hoover

I can't afford real LMs either. Bit I also wouldn't put my money into replicas as I've not had great success with them in the past.

And FYI my car cost less than 2K and my wheels cost £100

Modern OEM wheels break and crack due to unsuitable tyre / wheel / materials for British roads.

looks clear cut to me....

no your not rubbishing budgets, you are rubbishing his wheels, which is what he can afford on his budget.
We can all quote more expensive. bmw v rolls royce that doesn't mean BMW is crap.
we don't all buy stuff because we want to race on them.
G*jka's rubbish wheels have run on British roads for 7 years without problems and so have my 'cheap' aftermarket wheels.

It's the poor state of British roads that causes damage to wheel rims, choose whether they be OEM or aftermarket.

Tony.

ps. I see more OEM wheels cracked than aftermarket, just saying. . . . . .

None of my comments we're directed at an individual, their personal budget or their choices. But you obviously have a bee in your bonnet about it so i'll leave it there.
