Anyone interested in headphones?

Thought not =))

I've been looking for a new set of top end noise machines, so thought I'd share my new toys with you.

I had to choose between over ear or in ear, my main use for these will be in the gym and general use when Kate is talking :dead:

With having a sweaty baldy head I thought over ear would be a No, the leather getting ruined quickly, especially going to Mexico soon, sweat and sun cream and a headband tan are not cool!!

In ear it is. Budget earbuds were a no go as you do get what you pay for and I didn't want to compromise on sound quality when working out.

The only real shop up here is Bang & Olufsen. Bose and Bowers & Wilkins are sold in currys but they have no idea what they are on about.

These are the earbuds B&O sell, have a watch.

These are some really impressive little earphones. The sound quality is better than most over ear! Memory foam tips, they have never moved from my ears even when I'm doing heavy exercise. Well worth the high asking price in my opinion, which I didn't really want to spend that much at first.

Then I ended up with a set of their H7 over ear headphones anyway. To share with Kate, only way I could convince her to let me get both hahaha

Interesting stuff, sort of knocks my dinosaur iPod and 'any ear phone will do' choice. Oh, $300 :wideyed:

I did try those on and they sound very very good. I do like active noise cancelling.
No good in the gym though for me, would fall off doing pressups haha

The E8s have microphones in and they work with Google assist or siri, whichever your phone has, it's pretty handy.

=))=)) I had that approach, used to just use free headphones from phones but the wires were awful, sound was basic and were very uncomfortable, if they stay in long enough.

Wear a pair of ear defenders over the top of noise cancelling earbud headphones. You’ll get
  • nearly 50dB suppression
  • the ear buds won’t fall out
  • Fantastic audio.
The only problem is you’ll look a right d**k =))

I bought some Sony noise cancelling ear buds 6 or 7 years ago - long before BT connections came along. Wouldn’t be without them.
B&O have always made top end kit. Never cheap.

I may need to speak to my Children to see how I get the music from my iPod and onto my phone and invest. IT nerd me :arghh:

B&O = Philips, is that right Ian?

Completely independent in terms of major share ownership as far as I know. Publicly traded but had a few partnerships with the likes of HP and, before that, Beats. The latter stopped when bought by Apple. Typical Danish company - values its independence.

B&O use parts from allover the world but mostly the high end kit.
A long while back now Philips were asked if they would like to by out B&O but Philips were not interested even though they do sell parts to B&O, mostly for their TV's.

I had a living room full of B&O kit back in the 90's as I was into it big time, not bothered now though.

The prices of the B&O home kit is priced into the atmosphere. There was a stunning tv with amazing sound, but at 13k I'd rather have a z3m!

I use Spotify, it' 7 or 8 quid a month and you get unlimited music, any song from any artist and it's probably there. It's good for me I listen to music every day so I'm always looking for new bands etc

I went to a gym once. They had music playing in the background. You could sing along if you wanted to. Don't they do this now?

My mistake, very sorry. When you said for use in the gym I assumed you were exercising. Just goes to show how wrong assumptions can be!;)
