Tony is everyone's best friend. He has forgotten more about cars than most of us will ever know.
There's lots of banter on here. You will get used to it. It is all good humour - honestly. as Kenney Everett said "it's all done in the best possible taste"! Any unacceptable stuff quickly gets moderated out - in fact there's very little indeed. HT is one of the chief architects of the banter and for his troubles he gets as much as he gives. Ain't that right Mike?

But to the original poster, they are a harmless - if excitable - bunch of enthusiasts.
Its ok, I was born confused and have remained confused my entire life. At 9yrs old I had a serious look at the so called intelligent grown ups and decided emphatically to remain a child. If I ever consume enough alcohol make me think that growing up would be a good idea I definitely want to be train driver or a fireman?

If it was a genuine one I might consider keeping it but its cheap and nasty. Well apart from the adhesive tape which is stuck to the car like s**t to a blanket?

That said I have now taken the pigeon by the horns and found its worth more than two in a bush!........... did I get that right?

Oh so why am I thanking you?........... well armed with your advice and against all better judgement and common sense I armed myself with my wife's hairdryer and two old Amex cards and tentatively approached the back of my car. I gently eased one of the cards under the bottom left hand corner of the offending badge (regular viewers will understand what the offending badge was) and started gently heating the offending badge with my wife's hairdryer. With the second card I gently eased the top right hand corner of IT away from the body of the car. Surprisingly it started to come away from the bodywork with ease which quickly placed me in a state of absolute euphoria until I was brought crashing back down to earth. (Trainee pilots please forgive my use of terms there) The disaster that followed was due to my wife arriving home! Imagine trying to explain to her who shall be obeyed the actual reason why you are standing in the driveway with her hairdryer in your hand and two credit cards.
Due to the 9pm watershed and my fear of reprisal from my wife I will cut the story short and say it worked.
I don't know how long ago the previous insane owner stuck the offending badge on the car but the paintwork wasn't marked in any way. I am now the proud owner of a naked Z4! so thank you all those members that replied with help and advice......... I TRULY THANK YOU!

We already are!............ (note to myself, remember to tell people things!)....... (oh and try harder to keep up!)....
Lighter fuel. best sticky stuff remover, ever. Lighter fuel is right there with Blue Tak in the God Given Substance Of Awesomeness. Even WD40 can't compete.
Seriously, good quality lighter fuel will remove anything greasy/sticky/organic and evaporates with zero residue. Make sure to wipe before it evaporates, otherwise you end up spreading sticky stuff. Oh, and don't smoke.
Brake and Clutch cleaner is as good, and probably more versatile as it comes in aerosol form. Also Silicon spray is very useful.
