Bad valve cover breather?

Can hear a slight rough idle through silencer. Not sure what I tried to confirm with the removal of the oil cap. Is it normal for it to do like it did? I know for a fact that the hose is bad but I thought I might get away with it.

Removal of the oil cap engine running will do that as your car has a positive crankcase ventilation system breather fumes being drawn back through intake to lower emissions engine and breather / vacuum hoses all need to be sealed and intact for this to work correctly
