Just having a lesuirely drive in the sun, car seem to lose power then the biggest backfire I've ever heard :wideyed:.

It was then lumpy, and loud, for a few yards as I tried to find somewhere to pull over.

Drove home and it was back to running nice and smoothe, but loud as a V8.

This is the outcome. :sorry:

Just concerned it's not a bigger problem and happens again once I replace back box.

Was loud though. Hahhaha

Had the exhaust blow itself apart many years ago driving up the M1 - it was in the middle of a tornado, raining so hard all the traffic had stopped and bang! The engine was running but sounded a bit unwell.
Pulled over to the hard shoulder but had to wait until it was safe to get out to investigate.
Fortunately it bolted back together again.

If you want a cheap but quality fix for it I have a stainless steel 1.9 back box.

Although you can get a whole 1.9 system off ebay for about £50. The one I got and I know other forum members have used before is amazingly very good and even sounds quite decent.
