Some one once told me, "You can hit softly with a big hammer, but you can't hit hard with a small one!" This was when I was an apprentice buying my first set of tools, and, by the way, Very true.;)

Tony.

If at first it does not fit... Get a bigger hammer lol...

I'll have you know that hammer is calibrated :P

O no I'm up 10 mins late and it's put me all behind :p
I'd better get cracking other wise I'll be late for work :)

Another sneak peak for you all, Finally finished the lower Cryo pump. This is one half fitted just before it was welded.

This little beauty will help increase the pumping rate removing the gases out of the atmosphere inside the reactor. This helps in two ways,

1) to achieve a good vacuum

2) removes impurities so the plasma can be maintained for longer.

:)

its alright for you lot, when i go back tomorow i have to move premises, not too bad you might think but i have almost 8000 pallets to move, including all the racking and my office:mad: the other building has no office/canteen or toilets yet and top that with- i have till 30th of jan to complete everything:eek:

progress so far - believe it or not the trailer in the middle (not the scissor lift that im using to raise the lighting) is a full size articulated truck dwarfed by the space around it.

It will be brutal alright.... And it will be fun too.

One of the warehouses I was at recently the maintenance staff had tricycles to ride about on as it took so long to walk and carry any tools they needed and I think 15m tall

Did a noise survey in one last year, no radios worked as containers blocked the signal.. It was huge.. And well, we were given electric buggies to move around with. Great fun but we were warned about speeding. :racecar:

I'll take the bike!

Some of the guys I work with go to work in a basket - not for the squeamish!

i worked in a warehouse where we had an electric scooter, it started off as 24v but this place supplied garden machinery parts so had a large selection of batteries, it didn't take long for the scooter to get upgraded to 48v, we had a lap record for going around our internal circuit around the racking, a bit like the top gear test track but indoors.
