Why do people feel the need to use German script on their number plates? We're in the UK and these plates can cause confusion.
My aunt was subject to a hit & run by someone with similar plates a couple of years ago and she informed the police she'd been hit by a German registered car because the owner had the same font as these.

As a result of this the guy nearly got away with it, it was only luck that someone saw the story on the news and spotted the damage on their neighbour's car and reported it.

I'm pretty sure these plates are illegal on UK road aren't they?

A German registered car would have white plates with black letters/numbers embossed on it. Would also have a 'D' for Deutschland to the left.

Only two font are legal in the UK, standard Charles Wright font and the same in 3D effect. Italic, highline and carbon are now illegal. Also you cannot legally add anything extra to a number plate other than flags and borders

You can disagree as much as you like Tony but, the contents of an MOT is not stated in law but decided by the DVSA (I believe but cant be arsed to check), only the requirements to have one is stated in law "Road Traffic Act 1988.

Number plate design is stated in law within The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regs 2001 and its very clear.

Now an MOT may be issued with an incorrect plate but in the very unlikely event the Rozers could be bothered to stop someone, they could be prosecuted.

No, it’s doesn’t say the same. This is what governs what is on the road. I guarantee most Police Officers cannot quote the law if they stop you. Most do not even know MOT rules, which, by the way are far more complicated than they need to be which why you get cars with plates like these on the road. Down to owners vanity and MOT testers apathy.

ps. By the way the content of the MOT test has been driven by European Laws above UK laws for many years.

Went for Falken in the end.
Only driven it a few miles so can't say how they perform.

Wheels look good, we will have to have a pootle round the Peaks to bed your tractor spec springs in, but totally understand why you've fitted them

Because the car is individual to the person that owns it!. I have had German font plates on my car for 7 years and never had any issues with the police or come MOT time. We are not in the habit on here to question peoples tastes, we leave that for facebook!
