I believe the back story to the Carb XR3 is that Ford were too slow on the uptake with the injection system and VW bagged the lot for the Golf GTI? ?

Had a black A reg XR3I but only briefly, loved it but got a First RS Turbo. After my Zed it's my favourite car I've owned. Oh, Jack was born and we got a Lab = 1.8LX Sierra Estate :arghh: :arghh: :arghh:

I do peak on Autotrader occasionally and it won't be many years before they start getting out of reach of most punters as they were only made for a couple of years and must were wrapped around lamp posts by TWOCER's. It had the dubious honour as the most stolen car in the UK at one time.
 
Must admit, I was rather partial to the Recaro's
