It is, but which number is the scammer?
I've just had a missed number calling from Dundee, but I'm not calling back.

Tony.

Sign of the times.
friend received a call from a strange number and when he picked up a voice said “daddy help” and hang up.
he called immediately back and the answer was “thank you for calling cayman whatever”.
€ 223 was the charge.
I hope they find them, and kill them with a very painful way.

The PDS scam has been around since at least 2006.
Dont see how the costs could be that big as there are limits in the UK on 09 numbers.
From ofcom;

The cost of calling 09 numbers is made up of two parts: an access charge going to your phone company, and a service charge set by the organisation you are calling.
The service charge for calls to 09 numbers can range from 1p to £3.60 per minute. You may be charged a one-off call cost ranging from 5p to £6. The service charge must be clearly displayed wherever the phone number is advertised or promoted.
The access charge – which is additional to the service charge – will vary depending on your phone company, and can range from 8p to 67p per minute. Choose a provider from the table below for more information on their pricing.

I had a call a week last Saturday evening. A young kid shouted “I’ve lost my door handle” , I said “What?” and he repeated it. I just said “I don’t know what kind of scam this is,but I’m not interested. F off!”

Tony.
