Yeah, I contacted the guy who imported it and he's from the UK and spent 10 years in Sydney. He admitted that it had been a bad move as it was worth far more in Oz than it was here. It's a 2009 LCI facelift hot climate version. It's fitted with the updated N46TU motor, Europe versions got the weaker N43 which had been developed for better fuel economy and emissions but are known to blow up! Bmw didn't trust the N43 on varying fuel quality especially with regard to sulphur content so they didn't sell it outside of Europe. Its well spec'd with a sunroof, adaptive zenons, Led indicators, Bluetooth, sat nav, blah blah blah! I've even got a copy of it's last Rego Document and for benefit of all of us "stiff upper lip brigade" that's it's proper name! Anyhow, a big welcome to the forum and as you've already found you'll get all the help and advice that you need on here.

Sorry Grenville, you should have put me right, it was only the equivalent of our Tax Discs that were called "Rego Stickers" and both countries have now done away with them.
When I think of it the exhaust note does have an upward inflection at the end of an acceleration, never thought of that before, that explains it, it does have an accent!
Is Oz changing it's driving side of the road this year? That should be fun

Gerday folks, Have just joined you good people and expect I will learn heaps. Recently acquired my first Z3, a 1997 1.9l bum buster. All good fun. A few rattles fixed and things tinkered with. Now, to sort out a stuck wing mirror that has a busted little plastic bolt and flops around like -------. Yair well, it drives well and sticks to the road which is good cos it needs to stay shiney side up.
Welcome to the forum from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey...............Frankie

Well, Chrisr, we still get the rego papers which are renewals notices but yes, they did away with the stickers for the windscreens a few years ago. The gummint's are trying to get us to get our renewal notices online but stuff them, they get enough money they can afford the postage. There is no mention from the anti monarchists about changing to left hand drive, particularly since the lunatic left got their pants pulled down in the election ten days ago. Anything else you need cleared up, old chap? Have a goodie.

Hi Grenville, Yeah I reckon I found my E91s history a bit of a novelty so I became a bit obsesive about it. I think if I'd grown up in this age instead of the 1950s I'd have been classified as "something" Anyhow it's been good to chat to you and sorry if I've come on a bit strong. Once again :welcome: to the forum. Chris

I didn't realise you were 'coming on a bit strong' - I thought we were simply having a yarn and a good time. No damage done. Have a good one.;)
