To stay on topic, just been for a dump.........
It always makes me laugh when over in the UK with Dutch friends, it goes something like this.

Brit: Right, I am going to get tea ready.
Clog: Err, could I have coffee please?
Brit: If you like, but I am going to open a bottle of wine.
Clog: (Looks at me) Who is drinking tea then?

Autumn, officially my favourite time of year, cold crisp mornings and the beautiful colours, nowt to do with muck spreading but hey ho

Mike, there's no wonder foreign people get confused with English. We were talking about this the other week in the States and so many different words spelled differently but have the same sound, ie. Fair, tear, care. and hear, here, beer, to name a few. Let alone saying things which mean different things to different people too.

The muck spreading around here usually gets done in late spring/early summer while there isn't a whole lot else to do apart from butchering hedgerows with those flail cutter things.

Not in our house ! Tea at tea time sometime after 3.00 usually with some cake ,fruit cake ,welsh cakes ,sometimes it's just a biscuit or a little sponge cake with icing and hundreds and thousands,very rarely we get pancakes and syrup with lemon yum

That's the only way, apart from maybe savoury pancakes filled with minced beef for starters.

If you can't get on the ground early with your muck it will come back in with the harvest as it won't have had enough time to get absorbed . We're usually to busy just after the first cut to spread it and if it's very dry it just drys out on the surface. Now is a good time for us as the best autum grass is just about done so the manure doesn't cover it and restrict our fat lambs and breeding ewes grasing it has time to disappear over the winter

Lunch.............
Tea time, 3 o'clock sharp.......with a stroopwafel or three.
Dinner........with wine, bottle or three.

Nah, you're hours out mate,
Breakfast somewhere near 10-10.30 to catch the pop quiz on Radio 2.
Dinner, again 1.00 to 1.30 (variable) depending on bloody customers and management.
Tea time, depends whether I get out of work on time and then depending on the traffic getting out of Lincoln,- at tea time.

We don't have time for mid afternoon treats. Or mid morning for that matter.

A voice of experiance....we are usually a good few weeks behind the south so expect to see our muck spreading in the next week or so.
