Asc and rattle help

@Derek I wouldn't touch it before taking it back to the dealer, all you have to say is further to reading the manual (if you don't have one they are available online) you have noticed that both the ASC and ABS light do not appear on startup, let him investigate and sort the issues, if the dealer gets wind of you removing the cluster, running diagnostic tests etc. he can refuse to do any work on it and void any warranty given. Be careful.

Didn't think of that @Brian H
Will take it down to the dealer at the weekend see what they say.
Also have a rattle on the back end sounds like something is loose heats held maybe?

What head unit have you got in the car?
When I first got mine, it started making noises and then I found out that I had navigation on it as it was picking up speed cameras

Top suspension mounts are a common rear end rattle on a zed. Depends where rear i suppose this would be a mettalic rattle around your ears as the sit just under the carpet in the roof bin

Not the dreaded fuel tank rattle I hope.

Tony.

@hard top I have the standard cd player in it.
@Antm72 are the top mounts easy to access?

@t-tony it sounds more like something is loose like a heat shield or something similar. Haven't had a good poke around yet tho

top mounts are not expensive but dont buy cheap ones you will end up replacing them again, the plus side they are easy to do, you dont need to take the wheel off to remove them ,

poss not, not sure this will work but when you pull the carpet back by your hood you will see the mounts, get some one to shake the shock to see if you can recreate the knock, just a thought, but because they are not expensive i would just replace them any way if your shocks are ok you only mess with then once and at the very least your ride should be bettter

I will check the top mounts tonight. Another thing iv read is about weighted blocks in the back bumper?? Anyone have any idea of these? Can you you see if these are loose without taking the bumper off?

So I called the dealer I bought the z from and no answer so left a voice mail with them. Jacked the car up to have a prod about and everything is solid under the car including the fuel rails. It has been under sealed also so now I'm at a loose end with the rattle

@Derek a long shot but have you looked at your exhaust mounts? I had a metallic rattle a few months back and turned out to be just that when I broke it (bottomed out) when going down my track over the cattle grid.

well it looks like we are going through everything rear springs are another area were you get a rattle when broke, i know because it happened to me, thought it was coming from the handbrake checked the spring all seemed ok, so left alone till i had more time. then the mot came around and it failed on a broken spring, that you could not see unless you got your head right into the wheel well, changed the both spring , shocks and mounts while i was at it no more noise, worth a look but have a good look not like me

That can be tomorrow's job before it gets a detail haha.
So check the springs àswell right in the foot wells

Busy day tomorrow then;) Another one for your list if you have axle stands lift the back end - run engine and put it in first to rotate wheels so you a can have a listen to the actual rotating parts. A failing cat can rattle but I admit your video doesn't sound like that.
