Once upon a time, fixing a bu55ered tyre on a lorry at the side of the M20, early afternoon on a bright sunny day, big white van covered in reflective stripes, festooned with loads of flashing lights, and some trucker still managed to hit it. Didn't bother stopping, either. Can't have too many flashing lights, it seems.
